Linkly Cloud username and password
Linkly Cloud is compatible with many devices and operating systems. IOS, Windows, Android etc. The determining factor on if cloud is supported is only limited by the POS provider supporting cloud connections.
You can check if a POS system is compatible with Linkly Cloud on their website below
https://linkly.com.au/resources-support/accredited-pos-vendors/
The terminal dock provided for cloud installs provides power only, and no other cables or connections are required. Plug the USB-C cable into the power plug provided. Plug the cable into the dock. The terminal can also be charged without the dock using the same cable and charger.
There are 2 styles of bases, the charging dock and a comms dock. The comms dock has multiple ports underneath and can cause connection issues for the terminal if used incorrectly. Do not pair the terminal with a comms base or connect to the comms base Wi-Fi. If you have been provided a comms base in error, please advise live payments or Ingenico so the correct base can be supplied.
For cloud installs, there is no POS software to be installed, the terminal provides its own software to connect directly to the POS system. The POS software must support Linkly cloud for this to work.
When you turn the terminal on for the first time, There are 2 possible scenarios
It has been pre-configured, and you will boot straight into the launcher or payments
It is a blank terminal, and you will boot to the android desktop.
If the screen shows “Enter Amount” tap the back arrow
The terminal should display the payment application on the “Welcome screen”
Tap the Hamburger menu in the top right, Select “WIFI Settings”
Ensure the Wi-Fi toggle on the right is turned on, and tap WIFI on the left
Select the merchants WIFI network, enter their network password and tap connect
Once the network shows connected you can exit out of the settings back to welcome screen.
Continue to Terminal Pairing below.
Ensure the terminal is above 50% charge before continuing this step, otherwise software will not load correctly.
Tap settings on the desktop.
Enter the password pax9876@@ and tap OK.
Tap Network & Internet
Ensure the Wi-Fi toggle on the right is turned on, and tap WIFI on the left
Select the merchants WIFI network, enter their network password and tap connect
Once the network shows connected you can exit out of the settings back to the desktop.
On the desktop, look for the Paxstore or Maxstore icon and tap it to open.
In the top right corner, tap the circle icon
Select “Initialisation”
Enter the Terminal ID and select “Next”
Terminal Initialization screen will display the masked details of the merchant. Tap the “Initialisation” button at the bottom
The terminal will log into the Maxstore, and start to download Firmware, Software and configuration automatically.
The terminal will restart and will auto-launch into the Linkly launcher where you will see Linkly Connect, and Payments.
Once the terminal software install is complete, the terminal needs to be paired to the POS. One component of pairing is consistent across all POS vendors, and that is a Linkly cloud username and password, along with a pairing code need to be entered. How this is done is dependent on how the POS provider has integrated Linkly cloud into their system.
Look for any settings menu inside the POS, and EFTPOS options. Most POS systems we have encountered its simple to find. If you are unable to find them, a call to the POS provider may be required.
Once you have located the settings:
Enter the username and password provided by Live Payments into the respective fields.
To obtain the pairing code from the terminal, tap on Linkly Connect from the menu.
The terminal should be pre-configured for cloud, and prompt PINPAD PAIRING, press enter to get the 6 digit pairing code
If you cannot see this screen :
At the bottom of the screen, it should show the Linkly cloud URL.
If it shows a local IP address, press function, enter 11112227 and press DONE. Toggle the Use Cloud Connection to ON and then use the back arrow. Confirm the cloud URL now shows, then
Press Function, enter 8880 and press DONE
Terminal will prompt PINPAD PAIRING, PRESS ENTER.
Enter the code into the POS, and there should be a pair button to start the process.
